Each year, we help the visitors and we earn some ministry money by ushering on the parade grandstands. Janet Morrison, our treasurer, coordinates approximately 70 ushers for stands that hold about 15,500 people. Many of the ushers are members of our congregation, but most are recruited from other congregations, or are friends and family members who want to experience the parade. We get up early and also stay on the stands a bit longer than everyone else, and Sharp Seating Company pays our congregation about $4000 for our time! It’s part of our ministry to help thousands of people have a better day in the city of Pasadena. The funds are used to support additional mission projects here and overseas.
