Last sunday we here at Gracelife enjoyed in our annual black history month celebration. Directed by Neil Earle, and with the help of the congregation we had a total of 92 people in attendance.
With readings from the book Parting The Waters by Taylor Branch, Grace life was able to peer into the late 50’s and early 60’s with the events during and surrounding the civil rights movement.
and Durrel Brown,
all read passages reflecting various figures during this time. In addition, We sang several classic Hymns and negro spirituals that brought a feeling of the civil rights movement to the congregation.
Afterwards we enjoyed a potluck meal and enjoyed the fellowship of our diverse congregation.
At the end many left knowing that no matter what humanity endures through, God will always be good!
